About this course

Applications for the 4th cycle of Asia Pacific Child Protection in Emergencies Professional Development Programme are now open!

The programme’s learning outcomes have been determined by a comprehensive Capacity Gap Analysis and are designed to build specific competencies in the following areas:

  • Core child protection concepts and frameworks
  • Child protection in emergencies priorities and needs
  • Child protection in emergencies strategies and approaches
  • Relevant cross-cutting themes
  • Programme Management for quality child protection in emergencies responses
  • Child protection in emergencies and capacity strengthening
  • Child protection in emergencies operating contexts

The Child Protection in Emergencies Professional Development Programme aims to empower professionals, from international and national NGOs as well as governments, to strengthen their child protection response capabilities in both chronic crises and new emergencies.

The programme uses a blended learning approach: participants engage in distance learning sessions, residential training, job placements, group work and reflective study, designed to enhance the skills, knowledge and attitudes required of child protection in emergencies response staff.

The programme's blended format and diverse pool of expert facilitators coupled with its complimentary mentoring component make it a truly 360˚ learning experience.

Who is this course for?

The Asia Pacific Child Protection Professional Development Programme, conducted in English, is designed for mid-career child protection and child protection in emergencies practitioners from: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Fiji, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Myanmar, Mongolia, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Pakistan, Philippines, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vanuatu and Vietnam.

Eligible applicants from Save the Children country offices and partner organisations are invited to apply. Applicants from locations that are prone to disasters or have been affected by disasters or conflicts are encouraged to apply.
